Career Path

Monika began working in the health and fitness industry 20 years ago initially with healthy populations. Her experience and skills in this area spanned from a variety of group exercise qualifications including aquatic exercise, personal training and working with the elderly.

While at university Monika combined her studies in both Exercise Science and Psychology and specialised in the field of exercise and health psychology, body image research, and sport psychology. This led to both a temporary teaching position in this area, as well as working in research for body image health for a further 3 years at the Australian Catholic University.

After taking some time to be at home with her family Monika then went on to complete her Master’s of Clinical and Exercise Physiology. Her passion for helping people improve their health and managing chronic conditions with exercise has led to her current role at Belgrave Medical Clinic, as well as running her own Falls Prevention Programs, and hydrotherapy classes at local retirement villages. Along with helping those with medical conditions, Monika also has expertise in the area of rehabilitation after sporting injuries,  and helping athletes return to sport safely, as well as preventing further injuries by enhancing their athletic skill and performance.
